Rules for the "Finnish Basenji Veteran of Year 2008" competition
  1. Dogs and bitches compete against each other for the same prize.

  2. Only basenjis that are owned (or co-owned) by Finnish citizens and that compete in Finnish shows are able to take part in this competition. The owner of the basenji needs to be a member of the Finnish Basenji Club.

  3. All in all points from six shows can be included.

  4. Only such veteran classes that are organized in conjunction with official dog shows are included.

  5. If two dogs have the same final score, then the older dog wins. If the dogs are of the same age, then the first place will be divided.

  6. The prize trophy will circulate for six years (starting 2002). After six years the trophy will be awarded to the dog that has received most points (for example, if a veteran dog has won the class several times, then his or her final points will be added together). If more than one dog get the same score, then the dog that has won most basenji will win.

Points

Each veteran basenji will get one point for every basenji veteran he or she has won.

A 'Champion Quality' (ERI) at a show will receive five additional points, and a 'Prize of Honour' (KP) will receive one additional point. All the basenjis won means the same as the number of basenji veterans entered that are of the same sex. The BOB veteran can also count the number of the basenji veterans entered that are of the opposite sex. Also basenji veterans that have received other prizes than the first prize (for example, a 'very good' (EH), a 'good' (H), 'satisfactory' (T), a 'disqualified' (0), or a 'cannot be judged' (EVA)) will give the winner points.

The owners of the basenjis will personally have to send the points of their dogs to Anneli Pukkila, address: Saariseläntie 2 A 12, FI-00970 Helsinki, Finland.
